How to get a airfare ticket refunded from United?
I made reservations on last Thursday night for 2 1 way flights from Salt Lake City to Omaha, and accidentally made them for March 12th instead of April 26th because of United Airline's annoying-to-use website. The tickets cost around $130 each, and the ticket change fee is an OUTRAGEOUS $150 per ticket. The tickets are non-refundable, they tell me. It is SO bullshit. I called and talked to several indian service reps who could barely speak english, and got nowhere. So, basically, I am out around $300. *sai* ... Anyone have any ideas what I should do? Any way that I could get ANY money back would be helpful. Barring that, anyone need Airline tickets from Salt Lake City to Omaha in a week or so?? Or know how/where I could sell them for ANY money?

just go to your airport and they can do it for you, instead of speaking to east indians.

You cannot sell airline tickets to others because their names will be different from those on the tickets and they will not be allowed to travel.

It clearly said it was a non-refundable ticket, and you are also responsible to ensure that you've entered the correct information, and I believe that you even need to confirm that everything is correct a few times before it's actually purchased. Unfortunately, you really have no one to blame but yourself. Use this has a lesson to next time, check, recheck and recheck again that everything is correct before clicking the purchase button. You cannot sell them, because chances are the tickets are non-transferable as well.

The best thing to do would be to travel on those dates. When the airline says the ticket is non-refundable, it is not. You could go to the airport, and see what the airline managers could do for you.

No matter how "annoying-to-use" the website may be, how is it possible to try to get tickets for April 26 and instead get them for March 12. Wring month and wrong day of the month? It's not even the same day of the week!) Come on, why don't you tell us what really happened? And how many times did you have to click on "Confirm," "Yes," "OK, and/or "Purchase," with the wrong date staring you in the face, in order to complete the purchase? I'll bet that's part of what you found annoying, that they kept asking you if you really meant that. Well, guess what? After you repeatedly say that's what you mean they are going to take your word for it. The deal was made. What you should do is grow up, admit you made a mistake, and learn something from it. And unless you can find people who have the same names as are on your tickets, no, you can't sell them.
