First time traveling alone?
I know I already asked this but I needed more answers..lol I'm a 15 year old girl and I'm flying to Boston by myself for the first time. Could you help me on the steps on when you arrive at your next airplane and how to get on it because I'm always afraid that I'm gonna end up on the wrong airplane. I'm flying from Omaha, NE to Detroit, MI and then Detroit, MI to Boston, MA And also, what time should I be at the Omaha airport if my flight is at 1:40? Thanks! (:

Copied and Pasted, I flew alone once when I was younger. Basically, if you're under the age of 14, generally the air line will require your parents to pay an additional fee for a personal escort. Over the age of 14 this is optional. Airports, especially in larger cities, are very huge, but very easy to find your way around. Your gate (where you get on the plane at) is generally right next to where you check your luggage in. After going through security (make sure to take your shoes off, place you laptop in a bin if you have one, have your ID out as well as the boarding pass) and follow all of their instructions then it's as simple as following the hall down and reading the signs which should direct you to the gate. If you have any touble at all, ask a security officer and more than likely they'll walk you there since you're young. What I like to do now is print up a terminal map of the airport (you can find these at the airports website) and see for yourself. For example I'm leaving out of Philly tomorrow, so I can find there maps here http://www.phl.org/terminal_map.html I'd scroll all the way down and see what terminal my air line leaves out of, or look at my boarding pass and see "A4" which would be concourse A, gate 4. It is also very difficult to get on the wrong plane since a flight attendant will have to see your boarding pass before your enter, and you may just be sitting in someone elses seat! If you are a really early and you see another flight boarding, you can just sit around until your flight is ready. Usually they call by zones which you will see on your boarding pass - and even if you go on too early I double they're going to be upset since you are younger - take advantage of that while you can! You're going to see a lot of people moving around, just be confident and pay attention to the signs and ask for help if you need it. Have a safe trip! Additional - I always like to arrive at the airport 3 hours in advance, which doesn't include the time it takes to get there. =3 I'll be in Detorit too at one point tomorrow!
