How much would this trip cost ... ?
I'm not sure this trip is feasible because of how much it could cost ... But how much would I expect to spend for a couple days' trip to Detroit and Washington DC? According to a quick search on Expedia, a flight from Omaha>Detroit>DC>Omaha for a random time in October is about $400 per person, which includes fees & taxes. So besides that, what would it cost for a rental car, gas, food, a cheap hotel (per night), and any other expenses *besides* spending money?

I have found, after traveling for many years, that if I use a daily rate of $100-130 I am very close to what I actually spend. Of course it depends on if you are sharing expenses with other people, etc. My rate is for traveling by myself or with my wife. It includes room, car, meals, etc. Have fun
