When should I buy my flight to London for a summer trip in July or August 2011?
Just want to see how far in advance I should buy a round trip flight to London. My departing city would be Chicago--and then I'd buy my flights to Chicago closer to summer (I live in Omaha, NE). ANY advice would be much appreciated!

the earlier you buy the tickets, the better. you'll get it cheaper, and youll get better seats. just a better trip overall. Lol thats what my Mom always says. lol

OMG im from spain! but im living in lexington NE! :D yeah mexington lmao when i go to spain i usually buy them like 4 moths before but try too buy them as soon as possible so it's cheaper :D

I flew to London in July of 2009; It was wonderful. The dates honestly don't matter - just compare prices by airline. I am flying KLM airlines this time to fly over tomorrow but I flew Continental directly in to London the last time from Houston and it was wonderful. KLM's website is klm.com and continental's is continental.com Continental has flights direct!

July-August is the peak season for the airlines, so you can't expect any "good deals" a few weeks before departure. Apart the offers/sales, the fares tend to always increase. This means that, for a July-August trip, it's better to buy the tickets as earliest as possible. Check and compare the prices for a few days and try to decide this month. You can check the prices on consolidators like Kayak.com or SkyScanner.net and then compare them with the prices you can get directly with the airline. Many times, it's cheaper to buy directly from the airline!
